Hotel Gansevoort NYC : A touch of contemporary minimalism |
|
The Gansevoort is a stellar sophisticated and minimalist hotel full of fresh, luxuriant touches. Initially built for business travellers, the hotel is extremely attractive also for the leisure ones, and the edgy designer decor is right in sync with this trendy area. But what makes this 187-room hotel so exclusive is the 45ft-long rooftop swimming pool with underwater music, the duplex penthouse loft with a wall of windows looking out towards the Hudson River and Ono, the trendy hotel's Japanese restaurant.
The decor is contemporary and chic, using tweed, leather, marble, slate, stainless steel and warm shades of taupe, brown and cream and a palette of neutrals and grays with a shot of blackberry. Guest rooms have lots of natural light and vast views of the Empire State Building to the north and the Hudson River to the west. Beds are covered with gray or deep plum throws, down duvets and Egyptian cotton sheets, while bathrooms are outfitted with heat-retaining granite ceramic floors and custom marble-and-stainless-steel sinks.
Facilities are in line with the genre and represent the latest technology: Flat-screen TVs, DVD players, and a complimentary WiFi connection are all inclusive. Don’t forget to visit The G Spa, a 5,000-square-foot paradise and fitness center and the indoor/outdoor O Bar. Isn’t this luxury?
