During the last Basel World Watch Fair, Hamilton presented its new ODC X-02 timepiece. Fully aware of the current trend, Hamilton gave the futuristic watch an all black matt case.
Inspired by the Hamilton watch that appeared in Stanley Kubrick’s 1966 movie “2001: A Space Odyssey”, it features a plain titanium case or a black PVD coated one.
The case is modeled on the cross-section of an aircraft's wing and has three separate oblong dials that show the time in a different location. A valve-like pusher at the top of each dial allows for the setting of three independent times. Each window has its own curved sapphire crystal, enclosing the top and side of the individual dial for self-contained timekeeping in the chosen zone. The ODC X-02 Quartz’s outline is angular, contrasting with the soft curves of the framework supporting the crystals.
This unique timepiece promises to be a showstopper on and off the screen and is limited to just 1,000 pieces. Share on FacebookAuthor : Marina Bellini 05/05/2009
