Piano Voie Lactée by Pleyel and Andrée Putman
I remember the first time I went to this place; the atmosphere was so peaceful that I forgot I was in a shop. They were all very impressive and this one was the one I was looking for.
I went downstairs and suddenly stood still in the middle of nowhere. Down there in the corner it was here. I’ve heard so much about it, I could barely move. A very talented man was playing a beautiful piece of Chopin on it and I could only feel my heart beating and the notes playing through my body and my hidden tears.
Once open, its lid in the back part covered with hand-painted stars looked like the sweetest dream I could ever dreamed of. Andree Putman wanted to make it black, sober and valuable like a music box. It was like my soul was taken in the space of music where I could close my eyes and fly beyond the melodies and the Earth. I was asked to play a piece and was almost scared not to be as good as it deserved. I finally decided to play Canon, by Pachelbel, and as I was playing, I felt all the delicate poetry the piano could bring out.
I can remember how wonderful the piano sounded. Its music stand and its stick for the lid are made in checkerboard which make it very elegant and smart. The Voie Lactee by Putman and Pleyel is a piano which is capable of touching your heart through your fingers, through your ears and through your eyes.
