HL 23, a new icon in New York
“I cannot tell you how satisfied I am with this project. It is rare that a building would be constructed as it was conceived – without any compromise”, Neil Denari, a famous architect from Los Angeles gives his sentiment at the opening of what announces itself as an innovative and precursory project in the world of architecture. Housing tower and real figure impossible to miss in the New York landscape, the project will have required the integration of multiple ideas and other needs. Hospitality, luxury apartment building, simplicity, design, contemporary: these were the words uttered during a brainstorming session aiming at the implementation of this new work by Neil M. Denari Architects. Inc.
Six men will have been needed to give a contemporary vision to this rarely simple building. HL 23, this is the name of this atypical pace composed with fourteen floors. Built on a concrete structure, covered with glass panels and integrating the ingenious system of cantilever beams, HL 23 makes the most of the benefits of natural light and the technical specificities of the materials in order to offer vast spaces to the upcoming occupants.
When one opens the doors of this new architectural unity, they discover a surprising but effective decoration. Thomas Juul-Hansen, a professional architect and designer, managed to give a unique, modern and also elegant identity to each unit. Rigorous and sensitive to good taste, he worked for a long time on the interior layout of the nine apartments and the two duplex, which was not easy. Marble for the bathrooms, precious wood for the living rooms and a selection of the last High Tech equipments, this is the base that had to be decorated with good taste while respecting a will to offer a highly desired simplicity to the new residents.
It was after a meticulous selection that Thomas Juul-Hansen chose Ryan Lawson, Magen H Gallery and Sebastian + Barquet to bring this modern decorative touch to the project. Also helped by other artists, this new icon from New York will soon become a reference for the future buildings destined to welcome luxurious apartments.
